Aditya was a member of the Music Cognition Lab as part of his Mphil Dissertation (2019-21). During his time here, his work focused on emotional appraisal of Hindustani Classical pieces and the role of musical expertise and personality factors on the same. Findings indicated no significant role of expertise in perceiving the conveyed emotion of the piece, in contrast with the prevalent notion that an appreciation and discernment for Indian Classical required extensive training.
