Shikha worked in the music and cognition lab during her M.Phil dissertation (2015-2017) under the guidance of Dr Shantala Hegde. Her research objective was to study the effect of music listening on P300 in patients with Schizophrenia. The findings of this study showed improved behavioural outcomes and electrophysiological changes after one session of music listening. Following this, she was also a part of a project on Parkinson’s disease.
She is presently working on her PhD research in the Centre for Addiction Medicine, NIMHANS.
In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music as well as learning new musical instruments.
